Without naming the former teacher or the blog, citing confidentiality, Bronxville Schools Superintendent Roy Montesano, said the former teacher's statements were "misleading" and as "inaccurate as they are offensive."
"Moreover, the attacks upon the former student, much less by name, and the school’s integrity are inappropriate and absurd," Montesano added.
The superintendent noted that he “urges (the community) not to let one individual’s blog post take away from the school and community. Our staff and students work very hard to meet the high expectations the Bronxville School sets for them and what our community expects.”
Montesano added that “personnel issues are, of course, treated with the discretion and confidentiality they appropriately merit.
"The school does not comment publicly about current or former employees, even in response to agenda-laden musings of former staff,” he added.
Montesano praised the school district in the lengthy statement that was released on Monday. He called it “one of the preeminent public schools in this country.”
“This status is hard-earned - the school, as it reflects the Bronxville community, is singularly dedicated to the development of our students into well-rounded young people who are prepared to participate in today’s world as engaged citizens of character and integrity.”
